Covid-19 pandemic outbreak evolved across the globe. It not merely transformed communication practices carried out by the government, the non-government, the media and the non-media institutions and actors, but also made them being increasingly reliant on the Internet and social media platforms. While most of them suffered from diverse communication issues evolved in the covid-19 pandemic era, knowledge regarding such development has, however, been under-developed. This panel raises the following questions. What types of communication problems encountered by the government, the non-government, the media and the non-media institutions and actors in the covid-19 pandemic era? How did they managed such communication problems? How could we, as communication scholars and/or professionals, understand and explore these communication problems? What kinds of theoretical and practical media, journalism and communication models we could develop to help them to deal with these communication problems? Such questions would be discussed by the following five panellists invited in this plenary session.
